About Us

The early concepts for PdCToday began to percolate sometime in late-2007.  Identifying a need for a truly personable and useful web presence highlighting this part of southwest Wisconsin, former high school and college classmates Dan Moris and Tino Kaltsas formed Driftless LLC and began work on their first project PdCToday.com.

In all honestly, they didn’t like what was already out there. Drawing from their extended web and media backgrounds, “we can do so much better,” became a commonly uttered phrase.

A test-run of PdCToday.com occurred in 2009, featuring a steady stream of local news content. After nearly six months of testing the waters, they put the site on hiatus to analyze the experience and data – and develop a useful, enjoyable web experience highlighting the area they grew up in and still call home.

Relaunching in September 2010, the new PdCToday.com is beginning a new chapter in the development of web media for the area.

Tino Kaltsas grew up near Bloomington, Wisconsin. He worked from a young age at various Kaltsas-family businesses in Grant and Crawford counties.

Having attended UW-Platteville and Winona State University and being a graduate of Western Governors University with a degree in Information Technology, Tino’s education and nearly-lifetime experience on the web mix well together for a project like PdCToday.com. His day job is managing videoconferencing and distance education facilities at UW-Platteville along with being the go-to guy for all things streaming and new media related.

“When working with Tino,” says Dan Moris, “I know we can get something figured out – he’s so much better with the technical stuff than I am. Really, PdCToday.com runs because Tino tells it to.”

Dan Moris has developed a bit of a celebrity status in the Prairie du Chien area – if there is such a thing. Most notably, Dan was a long-time host of the Morning Show and play-by-play voice of PdC athletics on 94.3FM.

Once awarded as PdC Downtown Revitalization’s Volunteer of the Year (along with his family), Dan is very active in the community. He now works for the Opportunity Center, helping to develop a new food-business incubator kitchen.

Also a musician, Dan plays drums with the local band, The Noise Downstairs.
