A 50 year old man was found dead in his car Wednesday. A passerby saw the man slumped over in his vehicle parked on the side of the road on County X, near Highway 61 in Clayton Township. The Crawford County Sheriffs Department was notified at around 6:30pm.

The Wisconsin State Crime Lab was called in to assist with processing the vehicle for evidence and the Wisconsin Sate Patrol was requested to diagram the scene.

County X was closed to traffic for six hours during the investigation. The deceased man was taken to Veterans Memorial Hospital in Madison where an autopsy was performed on Thursday.

The man’s name has not yet been released.
