Windy Conditions Expected Through Monday
By PdC Today • Sep 27th, 2009 • Category: NewsA Strong cold front will bring northwest winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts of 40 to 45 mph to the area tonight, and continue into Monday. A Wind Advisory will be in effect for the area through Monday. Winds will be most severe on area ridgetops.
A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WINDS OF 30 MPH OR HIGHER... OR GUSTS OVER 45 MPH...ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
As of 9pm Sunday evening, the National Weather service was reporting sustained winds of 22mph in Prairie Du Chien and 15mph in Fennimore. These winds are expected to increase after midnight. Scatted showers are also expected throughout the evening.
