Prairie du Chien’s Tara Henry was among the 14 Southwest Tech students graduated in the 520-hour Law Enforcement Academy on August 28, 2009. During a ceremony held at the UW-Platteville Nohr Gallery, family and friends joined the graduates and academy instructors to celebrate the student’s success. Grant County Assistant District Attorney Anthony J. Pozorski was the guest speaker. Pozorski thanked the graduates for pursuing positions in law enforcement and shared helpful words of advice to guide them in their careers.

“Law enforcement is a career full of hard choices and realities,” stated Pozorski. “The number one reason people choose law enforcement is to make a positive difference for your friends, family, and community.”

Southwest Tech Criminal Justice Coordinator Kris Wubben presented the academy students with their graduation certificates. The Criminal Justice program prepares graduates to enter a career in law enforcement. Successful graduates of both the Criminal Justice associate degree program and the Law Enforcement Academy meet the hiring requirements for most Wisconsin law enforcement agencies.
