Two people from Platteville were killed when their motorcycle struck a tractor in Wingville Township, west of Montfort Sunday afternoon.

The tractor driven by Donald Kite or Montfort was making a left turn from Bethel Road onto Old Highway 18 when the motorcycle driven by Michael Udelhofen struck it on the right side. Both Udelhofen and his passenger, Laurel Skrede, were thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Department says they were both wearing helmets.

The fatalities are the fifth and sixth deaths on Grant County roads this year.
