Tornado Touches Down in Crawford County

Tornado by Eastman by Hwy 27 & County F

At 5:16pm Monday, trained weather spotters  reported a tornado on the ground in northern Crawford County.  The tornado was spotted near Mount Sterling by Highway 131 and County B.  It was moving east at 15 miles per hour.

Another tornado was spotted near Eastman (photo above). This tornado was seen along Highway 27.

Tornado Warnings also impacted northeastern and central Grant County.  Heavy rains in Platteville and other areas in central and southern parts of the county caused flash flooding.

Crawford County estimates nearly a quarter million dollars in damage.

The EF-1 tornado touch down was the first in Crawford County since 1987.
