The Crawford County Sheriff ’s Department has re-opened two death investigations involving Brian Dietrich and Kenneth Allington.

Kenneth Allington’s body was exhumed from Evergreen Cemetery last week for a second autopsy after new evidence surfaced that led police to investigate his death in 2005 as suspicious.  The original autopsy after Allington’s death indicated no specific cause of death.

Brian Dietrich was reported missing on October 31, 1993 by his girlfriend. His body was found on Indian Isle, a small island on the Mississippi River on Memorial Day 1994. Dietrich, a resident of Clayton County, Iowa, was last seen in Prairie du Chien walking toward Iowa on Highway 18. Autopsy results at that time show that Dietrich died from drowning.

The Sheriff’s Department emphasized that these investigations are being treated as suspicious and not ruled a Homicide.
