Highway 60 To Be Designated Scenic Byway

Symbolic ribbon cutting ceremonies will occur at several locations along the route that day. The special day will conclude with a reception at the Regional Tourism Center in Prairie du Chien at 2pm.
The Lower Wisconsin River Road (Highway 60), boasts some of the best scenery in Wisconsin with sprawling agricultural lands, mysterious bottomlands, towering bluffs, and the magnificent Wisconsin River visible from the road. Abundant and diverse recreational opportunities exist throughout the corridor. The communities along the route, including Prairie du Chien, Bridgeport, Wauzeka and Boscobel, are picturesque and invite visitors to experience the things that make each town unique.
